So much weather. I'll be frank. I'm not a huge fan of snow and ice. Especially if I have to drive. But here I am at school, looking out the library windows, watching the snow come down. It's pretty and all, but I prefer sunshine!

I started a new audio book and it's so much fun! I love the reader's voice and the story is fast paced and original. I love that it incorporates traditional Indian stories and has an unlikely (but likeable) heroine. I look forward to the rest of Aru's adventure!

This isn't my first Rebecca Stead book. I was introduced to her when she won the Newbery Award for When You Reach Me. So, I was excited when this was in my box of new books and it sort of wound up at the top. It's short-ish, the author has been reliable, and it felt like the right choice when I grabbed it last night. And it's so charming. The main character has a book with a list of "Things that Will Not Change" that her parents started for her when they told her they were getting a divorce. My heart was captured at the very idea of this list and this morning I didn't want to put it down so I could get ready for work. I can't wait to finish!

I usually don't know exactly what I'm reading next, but sometimes there's a book that I just HAVE to read. This has been in my TBR (to be read) pile since it came in and it just won the 2021 Printz award. And so now I will absolutely read it ASAP. Like as soon as I'm done with The List of Things that Will Not Change (that didn't win anything this year--insert frown--but that I still think is great).

Did I mention that I love book award lists?

Happy reading!
