As a librarian I am constantly thinking about a few things:
What should I read next?
What should my students read next?
How will I get them excited about reading?
How can I make everyone as happy about books as I am?
I'm sure there are no surprises there. I think ultimately people are as excited about reading and the library as I am. My enthusiasm is contagious (at least that's what I'm hoping).

What am I excited about? Ace of Spaces. I just started this book last night that got the highest praise, "the best book I've ever read" from a trusted source--Ms. Siwecki. I'm only one chapter in so far and I am already drawn to the author's voice and curious about our main characters.

I am so excited to read this collection of stories. I will confess that I'm drawn to the book because I love, love, love the artwork of Kadir Nelson. Doesn't the cover just radiate joy and happiness. Perfect for the title Black Boy Joy! I am one chapter in and am already smitten. I am super excited to spend a little time with a variety of my favorite authors like Jason Reynolds, Kwame Mbalia, and Kwame Alexander.

I love pushing myself to read nonfiction. Especially about topics with which I'm unfamiliar. I am really interested in the format of this title because it contains a mystery to solve within the book itself. The reader gets to use some traditional spycraft tools to solve a riddle. And I love a good mystery! So now I get to learn about a female spy in the Revolutionary War and solve a mystery? I'm doing a happy dance in my seat!
Happy reading everyone!
