Wow! The beginning of 2022 has proven to be a challenge. In fact, I'm writing my first ATM post on February 1! School has been hit hard by COVID which meant lots of absent teachers and students. I'm already missing a library clerk so my days are always full, but adding additional classes each week for subbing pushed me very close to the edge. One of the activities I had to put off was blogging. But today I made myself a promise. February would be a fresh start and a chance to get back to one of the things I love. Sharing book ideas with you.

I've wanted to read Snake Falls to Earth since it made it to the National Book Award list. Then it got a Newbery nod and I felt like I couldn't wait any longer. So far it is not what I expected, but I'll be honest and admit I had no expectations. It's part realistic fiction part magical realism.

Adorable graphic novel in the Raina Telgemeier style. The difference being the adorable middle school journal about life, boys, and shoes takes a more serious turn on September 11, 2001.

I love the character, voice, and art. This is a keeper for sure and will likely find plenty of fans.

I love this, I love this, I love this!!! Finally, a female survival story to rival Hatchet. I'm listening to this one and it has been a while since I've wanted to just stay in my car and keep listening. The narrator is perfect and the writing is filled with suspense and drama. I can hardly wait to find out what happens to Maddie and her dog, George. Not to mention as I write this we are awaiting a huge storm. Alone is the perfect blizzard read!

Happy reading everyone!
