There's so much to celebrate about February. It's my birthday month, it's closer to spring, and Black History Month.
For me as a reader it is time to spend extra time with titles that showcase authors, stories, and issues around Black History.

John Lewis continues to document his life's work around equity and voting rights in America. His March trilogy is strengthened with the newest title, Run. This is graphic non-fiction at its best. The reader experiences the struggle, horror, and challenges as Lewis works towards getting laws changed and voting rights ensured.
I can only hope the work will continue on this series in spite of Senator Lewis' passing. May we all continue to learn from his work and good trouble.

I love this cover. I love the light on the face of the person holding the child and the wind as it wraps both people with the flag.
I'm also delighted that the book is just as well constructed. The book is a collection of poems and very short stories around Black Life. There's literally something for everyone to either identify with or from which they can learn.
Happy Reading!
