Happy Spring Equinox!

I am so happy it's finally getting warmer, the days are longer, and we are in 4th quarter. I can hardly wait until it's time to start riding my bike to school.

Until then, I'll just keep focusing on my morning reading.

I will be honest. I spend some time reading over break, but cleaning, organizing, and relaxing really got in the way a bit. So, I'm satisfied with my productivity but it's nothing too extensive.

To start break I finished Yummy, a super fun book

about the history of desserts. It was great (I learned so much) but also terrible (it made me so hungry!).

I also finished listening to Nevermore. Solid fantasy and a creative world.

I read Ain't Burned all the Bright and was impressed with the creativity of this collaboration between Jason Reynolds and his friend, Jason Griffin. Reynolds wrote the content and Griffin created the images. They became friends in college and they really do work brilliantly together. This was a strong look at COVID and the impact of the virus on people and families.

You Have a Match by Emma Lord is another Reese Witherspoon selections. And again, another winner. I listened to this while I cleaned and organized. It was the perfect story for my mood (realistic fiction--funny with a dash of bittersweet). I recommend this for anyone that loves a little love and mystery sprinkled in their realistic fiction. This is a keeper for sure and one of my 2022 favorites.

And that's about it. I know, right? Not too impressive. I'll share that I did read a couple of other graphic novels but they weren't very impressive so I'm not writing about them. In the mean time, I'm all finished with the books that I'm reading now (at least that I'm not stalled on--I'm looking at you Last Night at the Telegraph Club).

Happy reading everyone! And enjoy the warmth and sunshine will you can!
