Sometimes I'm just in my happy place. I am loving all of the books that I'm reading right now and have so, so many on my TBR list that I'm wiggling in my seat at the thought of my future adventures.

This love-at-first-sight cover is proving to be a love-while-I'm-reading story as well. The perfect match! I actually started LB a few weeks back, got distracted by other goings on, and restarted the book from the beginning two night ago. (Aside: I know my reading habits. If I start and stop reading a book over time it affects my overall feeling about the book. I really want to give this book a true shot so I just started it all over). I'm enjoying the story so much I'm nearly finished!

Lotus is so brilliant and full of contradictions. She's confident and insecure, opinionated and shy, brave and hesitant. I love that she is a character students will be able to relate to because her struggles with confidence, friends, and identity are universal. I know this will find a spot on so many favorite lists. I'm just delighted it's already been listed on the National Book Award Long list, but I'm confident the award love will be high come January.

LumberJackula cracks me up. I mean our main character, Jack, looks like he's strutting straight off the cover and into Saturday Night Fever. Did I mention that Jack is half Lumberjack--half Vampire? For real. The art is charming, the story is fresh, and the characters are well constructed. I mean, what's not to like!?

Gallant is one of the books that I've been excited to start and the audio version is not a disappointment. So far the book has so many qualities I love: strong characters, suspense, mystery, and a really good story. This will prove to be one of those audiobooks that I'm going to zip right through.

Happy reading everyone!
