It' s finally here! I know you're excited to have a much needed (and deserved) break from distance learning. But while your busy relaxing there may come a moment when you ask, "I wonder what Ms. Anderson is reading right now?"

Hahahaha!

Just killing. For real this time. I just finished a really, really challenging book called Grown by Tiffany Jackson. It left me emotionally drained and in need of a reading holiday. A reading holiday? What that? It's a bit of a break from reading serious stories but still engaging with text (for me something fun). So this week it's all graphic novels for me! I am so excited about both of these two.

New Kid is one of my very favorite comics so I was thrilled to see this companion. I can't wait to see what the author, Jerry Craft, has created this time. If you haven't read New Kid, then it should be at the top of your list--with this one second, of course!

Have I ever mentioned that reading a great comic makes me happy? I'm not kidding. I just love the perfect story paired with original art.

And let's be honest, how could reading about a girl and her unicorn not make me delighted? I'll be honest, I had low expectations for this one but it is proving to be as magical and the sparkling unicorn on the cover. I just might have to read the whole series! Yep. That's four unicorn stories that could be in my fall break future.
