The Land of Stories by Chris Colfer is a very interesting series centered on the twins, Alex and Conner Bailey. The twins accidentally find and activate a portal to the story-telling world. The story is full of magic, portals, witches, fairies, elves, trolls, goblins, mermaids and lots of other fantastic elements. There is a hint of romance involved too!
